Open Doors

Open Doors is the program for intellectually gifted students in Jackson Public Schools. Students must meet JPS/MDE requirements on various testing assessments and measures.

The program is designed to meet the individual needs of students as they interact in challenging learning experiences. They work collaboratively and individually to develop critical and creative thinking skills, leadership skills - while honing their communication abilities. Students conduct research and address pertinent issues in their world via the creative problem solving model. They reflect on their own gifts and talents as they participate in educational opportunities that help them build successful 'tool kits' to enhance their social and emotional needs.
